The West Cowboys suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by South on the road and fell 65-32. While losing is never fun, West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 489th, while South is ranked 136th).
South's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lajames Washington, who scored 14 points. Maurice Mccall was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
This is the second loss in a row for West and nudges their season record down to 5-8. As for South, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
West will be playing in front of their home fans against Briggs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South, they will head out on the road to challenge Eastmoor Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Eastmoor Academy is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
