The Pahokee Blue Devils will be playing at home against the Dixie County Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Pahokee can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 55-22 win over Glades Central. The win was just what Pahokee needed coming off of a 35-0 loss in their prior match.
Pahokee got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jenorris Wilcher jr out in front who rushed for 195 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Hardley Gilmore, who picked up 158 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Dixie County never let their opponents score on Friday. They walked away with a 12-0 victory over North Florida Educational Institute. The victory was just what Dixie County needed coming off of a 42-8 loss in their prior game.
Pahokee now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Dixie County, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
Pahokee couldn't quite finish off Dixie County when the teams last played back in November of 2015 and fell 16-13. Can Pahokee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
