On Saturday, The Sanford Mustangs faced the Byers Bulldogs in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Sanford fell 28-16 to Byers.
It was another big night for Kaleb Willoughby, who picked up 90 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Aj Engle was in the mix too, providing Byers with two touchdowns.
Sanford's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Byers, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Sanford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Byers will head out on the road to face off against Haxtun at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Haxtun is ranked fifth, while Byers is ranked ninth).
