If the Prairie Mustangs were expecting to get some payback for the 71-65 defeat against the Briggsdale Falcons when they previously met last month, then they were left disappointed. This past Friday, the Mustangs lost to Briggsdale at home by a decisive 61-50 margin. Prairie hasn't found any success against Briggsdale since Feb. 15 of last year, this loss making it three in a row.
The top scorers for Briggsdale were sophomore Malik Carlson (15 points) and senior Wyatt Patton (15 points).
The defeat dropped Prairie's record to 11-8. The win improved Briggsdale's record to 16-3.
Prairie will take on Longmont Christian on Wednesday. As for the Falcons, Briggsdale and Weldon Valley will go head to head on Wednesday in their first playoff matchup of the year. Weldon Valley took a loss in their last contest and are no doubt out to reverse Briggsdale's good fortune.
