On Wednesday, Lake George ended up a good deal behind Saratoga Central Catholic and lost 50-31. Lake George has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lake George's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Angelina Minnear, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Minnear is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Emily Guidetti was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Lake George's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-11. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.8 points per game. As for Saratoga Central Catholic, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake George will challenge Fort Ann at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New York (Fort Ann is ranked 499th, while Lake George is ranked 505th). Saratoga Central Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Stillwater at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th.
