The Community Christian Crusaders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Oasis Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Community Christian has three straight wins, Oasis Christian has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
In what's become a running theme this season, Community Christian gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They blew past Sarasota Military Academy 65-35 at home. Given Community Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 352nd, while Sarasota Military Academy is ranked 762nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Oasis Christian lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. Their rough 63-41 defeat to Lake Placid might stick with them for a while. Oasis Christian has struggled against Lake Placid recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
The losing side was boosted by Nic Place, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Landon Gall, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Community Christian has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Oasis Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Community Christian beat Oasis Christian 71-59 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Will Community Christian repeat their success, or does Oasis Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
