Jay Clifton was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with six steals for Community Baptist Christian. That makes it three consecutive games in which Clifton has scored at least 25% of Community Baptist Christian's points. Layne Cook was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds.
Portage Christian's defeat was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-9. As for Community Baptist Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Portage Christian will challenge Unity Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on December 18th. As for Community Baptist Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Granger Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
