Last Friday, Burroughs made easy work of Hoover and carried off a 47-21 win. Considering the Bears have won three contests by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Matteo Tarca, who rushed for 217 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per carry. His longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards. Mingus Allen was another key player, throwing for 172 yards and three touchdowns.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Burroughs was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 278 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2023.
Meanwhile, Muir blew past Arcadia, posting a 49-3 victory on the road. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by 22 points or more this season.
Muir's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Alijah Parker, who rushed for 138 yards and two touchdowns, and Zion McDonald, who gained 160 total yards and two touchdowns. Muir is undefeated when Parker posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Keyon Mills, who threw for 140 yards and a touchdown on only seven passes.
Burroughs' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. As for Muir, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
