The Ridgeline Riverhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 26 points or more this season. They blew past West 60-34. Given Ridgeline's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while West is ranked 25th), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Emilee Skinner, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. Elise Livingston was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with three steals.
West's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kylee Falatea, who scored eight points along with five assists and five rebounds. Falatea has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Fina Tuha, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
The victory was the fifth in a row for Ridgeline, bringing their record for this year to 8-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for West, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
Ridgeline's road trip will continue as they head out to face Rigby at 12:15 p.m. on December 21st. Rigby is on a six-game streak of home wins, Ridgeline a 17-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. West and Coeur d'Alene will face off at 1:40 p.m. on December 21st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Coeur d'Alene has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 260 points over their last four matchups.
