Benton is a perfect 6-0 against Parkview since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Patriots at 4:30 p.m. Benton is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
Benton is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arkansas' top teams: Sheridan, who was ranked 12th at the time (Benton was ranked fourth). The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Yellowjackets on Monday. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by exactly two runs.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Parkview). They were the clear victors by a 20-5 margin over ESTEM on Thursday. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Mets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Ma'Kylah Palmer made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Ma'Kyyah Palmer was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three doubles, and three RBI. Avory Withers was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Parkview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Benton's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Parkview, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 6-14.
Everything went Benton's way against Parkview when the teams last played back in April of 2022, as Benton made off with an 18-0 win. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
