There's no place like home for the John F. Kennedy Fighting Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They took down East Tech 55-39 on Wednesday. This was payback for John F. Kennedy, who suffered a 80-21 loss the last time these two teams met.
Shanaiya Ford was a one-man wrecking crew for John F. Kennedy as she scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ford has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Precious Elam, who scored ten points.
Despite the loss, East Tech had strong showings from Lanijah Carraway, who scored 16 points, and Myheirah Hampton, who scored 11 points.
John F. Kennedy's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for East Tech, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. John F. Kennedy and the will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. John Hay's defense has only allowed 28.5 points per game this season, so the Fighting Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for East Tech, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Trailblazers at 7:00 p.m. Campus International comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 15 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
