Little Miami hasn't had much luck against Lebanon recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Panthers will host the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Little Miami 3.7, Lebanon 1.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Little Miami's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over Turpin. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.
Not much got past Langley Lundt, who gave up just a hit and racked up 17 Ks to keep Turpin off the board.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bella Houillion, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Mae Loffer was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Lebanon came tearing into Wednesday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 20-0 victory. The Warriors' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last five games.
Sophia Sheidler made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Ella Tuebner was incredible, firing off two home runs, nine RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jane Leuzinger, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Lebanon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matches.
Little Miami pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Lebanon, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
Little Miami might still be hurting after the 7-1 loss they got from Lebanon in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Panthers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
