The Meridian Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 62-20 loss at the hands of Osceola. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Meridian in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost five in a row.
It was another big night for Kale Gustafson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 16 rebounds for Osceola. Gustafson is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 17 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kelby Neujahr, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Meridian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Osceola, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-4.
Meridian will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Osceola, they will head out on the road to face off against the Huskies at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday.
