Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, the Nature Coast Tech Sharks couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They were dealt a 48-6 defeat at the hands of South Sumter on Friday. Nature Coast Tech's loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Jackson Hoyt threw for 57 yards on four of eight attempts. Jacorrion Owens was his top target, picking up 35 receiving yards. On the ground, Christian Cromer rushed for 102 yards.
Among those leading the charge was Ja?kyrian Turner, who rushed for 44 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 32 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Malakhi Boone, who gained 61 total yards and a touchdown.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to South Sumter's defense and their five sacks. In that department, Boone was the leader with two sacks.
Nature Coast Tech's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for South Sumter, they have yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 10-1 record.
Nature Coast Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now. South Sumter will be playing at home against Titusville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Titusville will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
