Volleyball Recap: Frontenac Starts Season with Win Against Galena

Frontenac had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Galena Bulldogs on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Frontenac won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-22.

Lucy Anderson paced Frontenac's offense, picking up nine kills. Anderson got some help from Ellie Bloom and her 21 assists. Anderson also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Blakely Niegsch, racking up three apiece.

Galena's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Frontenac wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Neodesha on the 2nd. Galena has also already played their next contest (against Northeast), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
