Despite the loss, Effingham County still got an impressive performance from Kyjana Jordan, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. That was a full 47.2% of Effingham County's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Baylee Hodges was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Brunswick's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shanyece Quick led the charge by scoring nine points along with nine rebounds and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Shania Jones, who scored 15 points along with five assists and two steals.
Effingham County has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Brunswick, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Effingham County will head out on the road to square off against South Effingham at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Elena Hairston and Jordan. As for Brunswick, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lakeside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Lakeside is ranked 96th, while Brunswick is ranked 118th).
