Baseline recap October 22, 2013
Upland was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in Baseline. The Highlanders/Scots vanquished Los Osos 27-10 earlier in the week.
Etiwanda scaled the state rankings by moving to 143 from 181 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Eagles climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Alta Loma 47-17.
Darryn Ratliff threw for 185 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Marcellus Hunter was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 26 carries, he ran for 113 yards as the Braves defeated the Grizzlies. Teammate Kendall Greer added to the ground attack by rushing for 35 yards.
Tim Salter's team's Tyler Hilinski and Wright led Baseline in both passing and receiving yards. 6-4 quarterback Hilinski has thrown for 1,697 yards this season, while Wright has 47 catches for 899 yards. Etiwanda's Tacory Spencer leads the league in rushing yards with 703.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Rancho Cucamonga takes on Los Osos. The Cougars are in first place, while Kevin Price's team is in fourth place.
Rancho Cucamonga added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Glendora, 37-9. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
