On Thursday, the Lone Peak Knights faced the Alta Hawks in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Lone Peak ended up on the wrong side of a rough 64-40 walloping at the hands of Alta. Lone Peak has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Lone Peak lost, one person who can't be blamed is Thomsen Kramer. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ike Staley, who scored 7 points along with 3 steals.
Leading Alta to victory were Jaxon Johnson and Ace Reiser. Johnson scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals, while Reiser scored 21 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds. The contest was Johnson's third in a row with at least ten points. Carter Doleac was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 6 rebounds.
Lone Peak now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Alta, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Lone Peak's road trip will continue as they head out to face Arbor View at 4:40 p.m. on December 1st. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Arbor View is ranked 30th in Nevada, while Lone Peak is ranked 23rd in Utah). As for Alta, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Springville at 7:00 p.m.
