After a string of ten wins, the Bothell Cougars's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 52-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Woodinville. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Bothell of the 58-44 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Charlotte Lipkin and Yuna McConnell certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Lipkin scored 12 points along with seven rebounds, while McConnell scored 15 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was McKylee Hawkins, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Bothell's defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-3. As for Woodinville, their victory was their 16th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2.
Bothell will challenge North Creek at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Woodinville, they will be playing at home against Newport - Bellevue at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Newport - Bellevue will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 134th, while Woodinville is ranked second).
