If La Veta wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Primero, they should've done a better job of containing Isabella Shew. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Redhawks with a sharp 3-0 win on Friday for which the team can thank Shew, who had 13 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last nine games she's played.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-13, 25-21.

Primero's victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 16-4. As for La Veta, they dropped their record down to 2-19 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home.

Coincidentally, Primero and La Veta will both be playing Pueblo Central the next time they take the court. The Redhawks will head out to face the Wildcats at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Bulldogs will play them later in the day, at 10:30 a.m.
