AAA District 14 recap September 10, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Kingsbury, who defeated 191st ranked Kingsbury, 40-18. Darian Nave ran for 211 yards in the win.
Bolton moved up to 189 from 230 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AAA District 14. The Wildcats were able to make move up by besting the Falcons 40-18.
Arlington's dynamic duo of Hunter Sheffield and Joseph Stevenson proved tough for Bartlett to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Sheffield threw for 215 yards and 2 touchdowns and Stevenson had 90 yards receiving. Jonathon Bowlen helped Arlington's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 72 yards.
The Tigers' dynamic duo of Sheffield and Stevenson proved to be unstoppable against the Panthers, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
He went 17-25 with 0 interceptions.
Taylor Hanna made the biggest impact on defense this week as Bolton topped Kingsbury. The 5-foot-9 senior grabbed 2.0 sacks.
Sheffield put up the best numbers through the air as Arlington defeated Bartlett.
Stevenson was the best receiver in the league this week as Chris Wiley's team defeated Jeff McFerran's team.
Nave was the most successful running back in the league this week. Devante Williams also contributed to the rushing game with 153 yards on the ground.
Nave was a beast in the backfield as Tommy Miller's team bested Earl lester's team.
The Tigers' Sheffield and Bowlen have formed a dream team this season, leading AAA District 14 in both passing and receiving yards. Sheffield has thrown for 773 yards this season, while Bowlen has 13 catches for 169 yards. The Wildcats' Nave leads the league in rushing yards with 409.
The Panthers fell to Arlington 39-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
