After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bishop McGuinness, the Leadership Academy Falcons were happy to have found some success on Friday. They skirted past Bethany 49-46. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Leadership Academy also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Leadership Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ali Faenza, who scored 21 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Brenna Lauten, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Bethany's loss came despite strong showings from Cheyenne Hollifield and Mattie Southard. Hollifield scored 16 points along with seven rebounds, while Southard scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Leadership Academy pushed their record up to 12-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Bethany, their loss dropped their record down to 11-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leadership Academy will take on the Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bethany, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Villains at 6:30 p.m. Bishop McGuinness presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Wolves in North Carolina (the Villains are ranked 56th, while the Wolves are ranked 426th).
