While Warriors fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Thursday's season opener. They were the clear victors by a 22-3 margin over Norfolk Christian on Thursday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Ambassadors recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Reese Krantz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 16 batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.
In other batting news, Hampton Christian Academy let Jewel O'Conner and Jayla Crosby run wild. O'Conner went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs, while Crosby got on base in five of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave Crosby a new career-high. Lexie Dennis was another key player, going 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Hampton Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Norfolk Christian only posted an OBP of .269.
Meanwhile, Greenbrier Christian Academy narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Perquimans 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Gators have posted against the Pirates since April 7, 2017.
Haleigh Murphy made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Reagan Frank was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Bayleigh Kahiler, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Hampton Christian Academy suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Greenbrier Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can Hampton Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
