Westminster Christian Academy has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Christian Collegiate Academy Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Westminster Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 349th in Louisiana, while the Bulldogs are ranked 146th in Mississippi).
While Westminster Christian Academy couldn't quite beat the Lions on Monday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 28-point defeat they were dealt on Friday. Westminster Christian Academy fell just short of the Lions by a score of 49-46.
Despite their defeat, Westminster Christian Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ben Andres, who scored 16 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Shane Casey, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Christian Collegiate Academy entered their tilt with the Tigers with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Christian Collegiate Academy took their game on the road on Monday with ease, bagging a 72-29 victory over the Tigers.
Frankie Woodall and Dillon Woods were among the main playmakers for Christian Collegiate Academy as the former dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds and the latter scored 18 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Woods is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 18 or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gabe Collier, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Westminster Christian Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Christian Collegiate Academy, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
