After losing to the Pymatuning Valley Lakers the last time they met, the Grand Valley Mustangs decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Grand Valley strolled past Pymatuning Valley with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 58-41.
When it comes to explaining why Pymatuning Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jolene Sharpe. Despite the final result, she scored ten points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah DeMoss, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Grand Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Pymatuning Valley, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grand Valley will take on Cardinal at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Cardinal will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 738th, while Grand Valley is ranked 290th). As for Pymatuning Valley, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Badger at 6:15 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Badger focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Monday.
