The Meridian Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell 47-40 to Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer. Meridian lost against Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer in their previous head to head back in January of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 52-21 score last time.
Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brogan Dunlap, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dunlap has scored at least 25% of Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer's points. Another player making a difference was Hunter Bohling, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds.
Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meridian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lewiston on January 2, 2024. Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sterling at 8:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
