The Cole Cougars will face off against the Tidehaven Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cole will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
In what's become a running theme this season, Cole gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 38-18 margin over Randolph. Given Cole's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 378th, while Randolph is ranked 776th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cole's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Abigail Levings led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakota Gaston, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Tidehaven managed to keep up with Hallettsville until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Tidehaven's tough 50-25 loss to Hallettsville might stick with them for a while. Having soared to a lofty 61 points in the game before, Tidehaven couldn't push the score so high this time.
Cole has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 29-8 record this season. As for Tidehaven, their loss dropped their record down to 21-12.
Cole couldn't quite finish off Tidehaven in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 and fell 45-43. Can Cole avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
