The Keswick Christian Crusaders gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They blew past St. Petersburg 62-32 at home. That's another feather in the cap for Keswick Christian, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Among those leading the charge was Ava Graham, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 10 assists. Another player making a difference was Angel L'eon, who scored 12 points along with 9 rebounds.
Several Green Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Quay Curry, who scored 10 points. Ella Abernethy was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Keswick Christian's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for St. Petersburg, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Keswick Christian will take on Sarasota Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Petersburg, they will be playing at home against Northeast at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Northeast focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 55 on Tuesday.
