Madison Central (Richmond, Ky.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 40-21 win over 
DuPont Manual (Louisville, Ky.).
The Indians scored 14 points in the first quarter. Madison Central scored on a defensive touchdown and a 
Dominique Hawkins touchdown run.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Hawkins in the first quarter, MC led 21-7 at the half.
The Richmond school saw its 14-point halftime lead fall to 13 entering the fourth.
The defeat comes as a step back for DuPont Manual, which notched a 35-0 victory over Moore in its previous outing. The victory was a step in the right direction for the Indians, which was coming off a 44-36 defeat at the hands of Knox Central in its previous game. The loss snapped the Crimsons' 2-game winning streak.
