While Taft's win against Mather wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Rangers 61-59. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Rangers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Mather lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Adin Smajlovic, who posted 25 points. His big performance that afternoon made it 24 games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Casey Fleming, who had 13 points.

Taft's victory bumped their record up to 8-19. As for Mather, their loss dropped their record down to 16-13.

Coming up, Taft will challenge St. Patrick at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Shamrocks have now posted at least 55 points in their last ten matchups. As for Mather, they will be playing at home against Orr at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rangers will be up against the Spartans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 55.47 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
