The Warner Christian Academy Eagles lost against the Father Lopez Green Wave back in January of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Warner Christian Academy has not had much luck with Father Lopez recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Warner Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kayleb Goolsby, who scored ten points along with three steals. The contest was Goolsby's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ashton Flores, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Warner Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Father Lopez, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Warner Christian Academy will challenge Innovation Montessori at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Innovation Montessori focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 back in December of 2023. Father Lopez and Trinity Prep will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Trinity Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 484th, while Father Lopez is ranked 166th).
