Providence Day has gone 9-1 against Cannon recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Chargers will head out on the road to challenge the Cougars at 5:30 p.m. Providence Day is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
Providence Day proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Independence 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Chargers have posted since May 10, 2024.

Owen Shirey tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cullen Ward, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Providence Day is undefeated when Ward posts two or more runs, but 7-10 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Cannon came up short against Pro Stock Royals Academy on Wednesday and fell 7-2. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Cannon also got a good showing from Maddock Griffin, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits Griffin has allowed since back in February.
On the hitting side, Mason Mierzwa and Colin Kieley stepped up to the plate in a big way. Mierzwa went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Kieley went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Mierzwa is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
The win got Providence Day back to even at 10-10. As for Cannon, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Providence Day has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Cannon struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
