The Valley Vista Monsoon lost against the Boulder Creek Jaguars back in November of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Valley Vista took a 28-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of Boulder Creek. While losing is never fun, Valley Vista can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona football rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Boulder Creek is ranked 24th).
Valley Vista's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Miles Pringle, who threw for 285 yards and a touchdown. Damian Zuniga was another key contributor, rushing for 84 yards and a touchdown.
Among those leading the charge was Karsten Cornell, who gained 96 total yards and two touchdowns.
Valley Vista's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.3 points per game. As for Boulder Creek, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-4.
Valley Vista will head out on the road to face off against O'Connor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Boulder Creek, they will be playing at home against Shadow Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Shadow Ridge has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 25th.
