The Bellevue West Thunderbirds are on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Benton Cardinals on December 19th. Hopefully Bellevue West focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Saturday.
Bellevue West pushed their score all the way to 59, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 66-59 to Totino-Grace.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Danielle Coyer, who scored 13 points. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Vanna Reitsma, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Benton had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They snuck past Notre Dame de Sion with a 46-41 win. Given Benton's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Notre Dame de Sion is ranked 253rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bellevue West bumped their record down to 3-3 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Benton, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
