Baseball Recap: Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy Comes Up Short

Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy had lost five straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 4-12 to make it six. They lost 11-1 to the Halifax Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-4 on Wednesday.

As for Halifax, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-2. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Halifax's part, they let Brandon Schell and Will Steinhauer run wild. Schell got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Steinhauer got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most RBI Schell has posted since back in April.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Greenwood at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Halifax will take on rival Susquenita at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 2.8, the Blackhawks 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
