Even though the North Hills Christian Eagles have not done well against the Statesville Christian Lions recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. North Hills Christian was the clear victor by a 53-27 margin over Statesville Christian. That result was just more of the same for these two, as North Hills Christian also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Among those leading the charge was Ava Kibler, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of North Hills Christian's points. Sam Oxendine was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
North Hills Christian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 2-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.3 points per game. As for Statesville Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Hills Christian will take on Carolina Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Carolina Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 17 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Statesville Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Oak Ridge Military Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
