The Penn Cambria Panthers waltzed into their matchup on Monday with three straight wins but they left with four. They put the hurt on Somerset with a sharp 63-43 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-17.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Penn Cambria to victory, but perhaps none more so than Easton Semelsberger, who scored 16 points along with three steals. Semelsberger has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter McDermott, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Penn Cambria now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Somerset, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Penn Cambria will take on the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Greater Johnstown is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games. As for Somerset, they will be playing at home against the Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
