Mammoth moved up to 908 from 952 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Desert Mountain. The Huskies climbed the ranks as a result of a 52-0 win over the Huskies.
Boron's dynamic duo of Austyn Fink and Austin Russell proved tough for Mammoth to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Fink threw for 232 yards and five touchdowns and Russell had 102 yards receiving. Jadrian Wiser helped Boron's passing attack out by catching six balls for 74 yards.
Chad Robinson was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 100 yards on 10 carries as Vasquez topped Marty Thompson's team. David Miller also contributed to the rushing game with 41 yards on the ground.
Boron's Fink and Wiser have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Fink has thrown for 1565 yards this season, while Wiser, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 30 catches for 530 yards. The Huskies' Tyler Wormhoudt leads the league in rushing yards with 686.
The top two teams in Desert Mountain will face off this week when first place Boron takes on second place Desert Christian. Last week, Todd Fink's team defeated Mammoth, while Desert Christian bested the Mustangs.
There should be lots of points scored when the Knights and the Bobcats face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Desert Christian comes in having scored 117 this season, while Boron has scored 284. Jack Gusbeth's team scored 27 points last week as it beat Vasquez.
The Huskies made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,520 from 13,114. The improvement was the result of 52-0 victory over Mammoth last week.
