Linden is 2-8 against Calaveras since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Lions will host the Red Hawks at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Calaveras will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Linden extended their winning streak to six on Monday. The Lions blew past Riverbank 14-4.

Linden got a great performance from Cambel Dunn as she struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Dunn a new career-high.
At the plate, Millee Holguin was a standout: she scored five runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Fears, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.
Linden kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Calaveras, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against Big Valley Christian on Monday as they made off with an 11-1 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Red Hawks considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Kamryn Thornburg was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Calaveras let Emma Clark and Kendra Baechler run wild. Clark scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3, while Baechler scored two runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-4. With that strong performance, Baechler is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Brynn Gardina was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Linden's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Calaveras, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Calaveras' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Linden has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .468. It's a different story for Calaveras, though, as they've only averaged .332. Will they be able to contain Linden's hitters?
Linden came up short against Calaveras in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 8-5. Will the Lions have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
