The Lake Placid Dragons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 20 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 45-25 margin over Fort Meade. This was payback for Lake Placid, who suffered a 36-35 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Antranique Felton continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Lake Placid's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalianna Crenshaw, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Lake Placid now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Fort Meade, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Placid won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Santa Fe Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on January 5th. Santa Fe Catholic has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 27. As for Fort Meade, they will be playing at home against Ridge Community at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th.
