Poway (Calif.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 45-0 win over Westview (San Diego, Calif.).
The Titans scored 10 points in the first quarter. Poway scored on a field goal by
Jordan Choukair and a defensive touchdown.
PHS was up 31-0 at the half after taking the lead on a field goal by Choukair in the first quarter.
The Titans expanded their lead to 45 points entering the fourth quarter. Poway scored two times in the third, including once on a
Nehemiah Gross touchdown run.
PHS's standout player in the win was Babiash. The senior wide receiver caught two touchdowns.
The Titans had given up an average of 10.4 points prior to the contest. The zero points that the Wolverines ended with were well below their average of 23.7 coming into the game.
A 45-14 Poway victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after Westview defeated Torrey Pines 14-13 last week. With the win PHS extended its winning streak to four games.
Westview (6-2) goes up against Rancho Bernardo in a Palomar game matchup next week, while Poway (6-2) locks horns with Carlsbad in a non-conference game.
