The Edgewood Warriors put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They snuck past Conneaut with a 46-41 win. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Edgewood has scored all year.
Among those leading the charge was Mckenna Vencill, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Mccollister, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Edgewood's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Conneaut, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edgewood will take on Harvey at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday. Harvey will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 605th, while Edgewood is ranked 61st). As for Conneaut, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Perry at 1:45 p.m.
