Basketball Recap: Oak Ridge Sets Scoring Season-High Against Willis

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oak Ridge). Everything went their way against the Willis Wildkats on Saturday as the Oak Ridge War Eagles made off with a 64-41 victory. The War Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildkats, too.

Oak Ridge was led to victory by Jordan Daigle and Synarea Reece. Daigle went 10 of 11 en route to 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Reece dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Daigle a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Jameson, who posted six points and six rebounds.

Oak Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

The win got Oak Ridge back to even at 13-13. As for Willis, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Oak Ridge will venture away from home to take on Caney Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Willis, they will welcome Grand Oaks at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Grand Oaks will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Willis surely won't give up without a fight.
