The Mesquite Wildcats and the Goldwater Bulldogs squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly the Mesquite Wildcats had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. Mesquite was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Goldwater apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Mesquite's loss dropped their record down to 6-9-1. As for Goldwater, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.
Mesquite does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Goldwater, they will head out on the road to take on Flowing Wells at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Flowing Wells is coming into the game with five straight losses at home, meaning Goldwater will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
