The Washington Blue Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Hillsboro Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Washington had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against St. Charles by a score of 56-49.
Washington got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was John Wall out in front who scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Haithcock, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Even though Hillsboro has not done well against Wilmington recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Hillsboro strolled past Wilmington with points to spare, taking the game 66-52.
Washington's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Hillsboro, their win bumped their record up to an identical 1-0.
Washington didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Hillsboro in their previous matchup back in February, but they still walked away with a 60-54 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Washington since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
