The Melrose Golden Wildcats had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 33-22 win over Craigmont. Melrose pushed the score to 33-8 by the end of the third, a deficit Craigmont cut but never quite recovered from.
Melrose is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Craigmont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-5.
Melrose will be playing at home against Millington Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Millington Central is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Craigmont, they will face off against Obion County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
