After two games on the road, Tom Bean is heading back home. They will take on the Bland Tigers at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
On Friday, things could have been worse for Tom Bean, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-46 loss to Honey Grove. Tom Bean has struggled against Honey Grove recently, as their match on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their defeat, Tom Bean saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Branson Ashlock, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two blocks, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Maguire Poole, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Bland was beaten by Sam Rayburn 70-34 on Friday.
Tom Bean's loss dropped their record down to 23-12. As for Bland, their loss dropped their record down to 17-15.
Tom Bean came out on top in a nail-biter against Bland when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 57-54. Will Tom Bean repeat their success, or does Bland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
