Football Recap: Northeastern Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Northeastern had won three straight games and Trent Deloney did his part to make it four on Friday. The Knights took their contest with ease, bagging an 89-6 win over the Cambridge City Lincoln Golden Eagles for which the team can thank Deloney, who picked up 118 receiving yards and three scores. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 104.2 receiving yards per game.

Northeastern didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Deloney led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. What's more, he's the matchup marked his third straight with at least 118. Northeastern received some extra help from Bryce Brittenham, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Northeastern's record is now 4-0. As for Cambridge City Lincoln, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Northeastern will look to defend their home field on Friday against Union City at 7:00 p.m. The Knights will be up against the Indians' rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Cambridge City Lincoln, they will head out on the road to face off against Hagerstown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so the Golden Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them.
