Galesburg Christian has struggled against Morning Star Academy recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Morning Star Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kellen Axtman out in front who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. Gavin Trotter was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Galesburg Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5. As for Morning Star Academy, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Galesburg Christian will square off against Faith Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Faith Christian will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak. As for Morning Star Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Quad Cities Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Quad Cities Christian will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
