6A District 11 recap November 13, 2013
Winter Haven added to the longest winning streak in 6A District 11 this week by beating Auburndale, 42-9. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Sebring made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,082 from 5,343. The improvement was the result of a 44-14 victory over Avon Park last week.
Lake Gibson's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Trey Congdon threw for 267 and 1 touchdown and Shaquan Perkins had 92 yards receiving. On the ground Thomas Boles chipped in 89 yards. Chris Clarke helped Lake Gibson's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 77 yards.
Congdon put up the best numbers through the air as the Braves bested Ridge. Congdon's favorite target this week was Perkins, who caught 4 passes for 92 yards.
Lake Gibson's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Braves feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Congdon has thrown for 1,763 yards and 17 touchdowns this season, while Jeremy Crissey has 22 catches for 499 yards.
The Blue Streaks led the league in scoring this week after putting up 44 points on the Red Devils.
